Val Müstair
The Val Müstair is a modest area in terms of size and population. Nevertheless, once I arrived, I quickly realised how complex the interplay between nature and culture, present and past, mountain and valley landscapes, indoors and outdoors, really is. For me, therefore, an initial photographic approach was only possible with an open mind, remaining collage-like, working with blurring and bringing things together unsystematically. This exploratory and deliberately probing approach seems to me to be appropriate for this part of the Swiss world – at least for a start. This enabled me to create initial series of images that can be pursued further and to find series of motifs that have links to my previous visual cosmos. What I have discovered and captured calls for continuation, repetition and concentration.
